People are always asking me, “How do you do it Jenn?” and I say, “Do what?” then they go on to ask how I have time for anything while working two jobs and going to school. My answer is usually along the lines of “…. Honestly, I have no idea.” So, here I am sitting down and thinking about how I get by day-to-day being a broke college student.

First off, you need a little background on what all I do. I am full time student, full time cat mom, full time friend, part time bartender, and I work part time doing promotions and events for some local radio stations. Sounds like a lot, right? Well, it is.

Every day is packed full. I start my day pretty, early around 7am. I get ready, have a cup of coffee sometimes two cups. I then get to work by 9am or 10am. Try to knock out what I can so I can spend my lunches doing school work. Once the work day is over, I head over to school where I sit in class and learn till about 7pm or 8pm depending on the day. I go home after school and spend a few hours studying till about 10pm. At 10pm I always turn on some trashy TV, such as Keeping up with the Kardashians or Real Housewives. I watch that till about midnight and then proceed to pass out and then then do it all over the next day.

By the time the weekend gets here one would think I would get a break. But nope! I must pay that college tuition somehow, so I bartend. Every Friday and Saturday I am at the bar working till 4am. This is the part where everyone freaks out...but to be honest, this is my favorite part. I love bartending. It’s a way to for me to socialize and have fun while making some money at the same time.

I always have Sundays off and I treat my Sundays like gold. I try to do nothing on Sundays. However, I usually end up doing some sort of school work on those days.

So, how do I stay sane? Multitasking, creating deadlines for myself, and making time for friends is key to keeping my mind at ease during this hectic time of my life. I try to take a weekend off here and there but obviously can only do that if the budget allows it.

My life may be really busy right now but I believe it is molding me to be a productive adult.
